The terrors of the road reverse
If you've ever tried reversing off a drive backing directly onto an A road you'll no doubt be aware that it's an entirely terrifying and consuming affair. If you're doing it during rush hour you feel genuinely lucky to escape with your life in tact after tackling such mountainous duties at such a tender time of the day.
Tactics range from throwing caution to the wind and reversing at any given opportunity then screaming "Aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhhhh" in the hope that your pathetic sound will protect you from the onslaught of fast moving traffic. They won't protect you. You're still going to die.
Other people prefer a different solution. They slow to a stop in the middle of the road and reverse ONTO their drive in preparation for tomorrows swift and danger free journey to work. The problem with this method is clear; it's rush hour, there are people on the road and they're going to watch you reverse onto your drive. The pressure is on. Everyone is watching you. There's a huge queue of people building behind you. Did I mention that everyone is watching you? Slowly…slowly….slooooowly……
BAM.
You've just hit your own wall with your own car. Congratulations. You've just kicked off a traffic jam, scratched your pretty bumper and lost all dignity in the process. You'll no doubt be reversing off your drive tomorrow, back to that same old hailstorm of terror you've come to know so well.
Of course it doesn't have to be like this. There is a solution to this problem. Solutions so simple that you'll wonder why you lived in a bubble of fear for so long. Get a traffic mirror. They're inexpensive, fun to install, and you'll be the envy of your neighbourhood. You'll finally be able to reverse onto that your road in a comforting cloud of comfort. Mornings shall be forever changed.
